This week in Literacy we read The Buddy Bench written by Patty Brozo. "A story of how schoolyards should be!" Community School had fun designing their own bulletin board to capture the moment!

We enjoyed reading “Stella, Queen of the snow” this week. We were able to create a snowstorm in the jar during our lesson!

This week during Literacy we read the picture book,One,written by @KathrynOtoshi. Using colors and numerals as the characters in the story, this award- winning author and illustrator shares a hidden message " Sometimes it just takes ONE!" @CommunityComets

Mrs. Carter's Kindergarten class learned all about the life cycle of a pumpkin today in Literacy! Many warm thanks to Araujo Farms in Dighton,Ma for their pumpkin contributions!

So much love for Sophia’s Squash had to share some more! The students loved thinking about where they would take Bernice if she was their friend and learning about the life cycle of a squash! Thanks @PatZMiller for such a great story!

Sophie and Bernice are best friends in Pat Miller's book, Sophie's Squash.The only problem is that Bernice is a squash! Sophie learns that the best way to care for Bernice is to make sure she has fresh air, good, clean dirt and a little love while she grows.

We loved reading “The Enormous Potato” today in. Kindergarten. The children learned that with teamwork they can accomplish so much more than if they did it alone!

We had a blast reading about Charlotte the Scientist and all her scientific tools. We also learned about the scientific method and how scientists use it to solve problems!

The Community Kindergarteners examined and explored the many things scientists need to solve a problem. We will be reading Charlotte the Scientist is Squished written by Camille Andros on Monday!

Jack & Michael's picture book, Say Hello, reminds us all of how "One little word can make a difference!"

Completed by 55 kindergarten students at the Community School in preparation for The Marionette Puppets Show on Wednesday ,Feb. 13 .We learned a lot and had so much fun painting and adding details to our amazing story mapping of this tale from China!

The Red Apple by Feridun Oral encourages the art of collaboration, creativity and engagement. Our kindergarten students dramatized why, "it is important to help when you can,and in any way you can." One student commented, "It was like the story came to life!" ❤️NA Kindergarten
