Amo las palabras y ellas a mí. Tengo 3 conejos maravillosos y hacemos magias a domicilio. Entre mis mejores amigos hay varios árboles.

A garden without leaf litter is not a tidy garden. It is a garden without mulch, without wildlife cover, and without the cheapest soil improver available. 20 fallen leaves worth keeping — each with a specific function: English oak — lasting mulch that takes 2 or more years to break down fully Field maple — rich in calcium and magnesium as it decomposes Scots pine needles — acidifies soil gradually; ideal around blueberries and azaleas Beech — makes exceptional leaf mould after 2 years in a separate wire bin Ash — breaks down quickly and releases potassium into the soil Hazel — fast to compost; shelter for ground beetles and hedgehogs over winter Hornbeam — slow to decompose; durable mulch for paths and borders Sweet chestnut — long-lasting, slightly acidifying mulch Walnut — use with caution; contains juglone, which inhibits some plant roots nearby Lime (linden) — one of the fastest leaves to decompose; excellent compost addition Hybrid poplar — composts within around 8 weeks; nitrogen-rich Silver birch — breaks down readily; produces good potassium-rich leaf mould Alder — releases nitrogen into the soil as it decomposes Sycamore — compost separately or in a hot heap; can carry tar spot spores Horse chestnut — useful bulk mulch; keep away from areas where dogs graze Mulberry — high in nitrogen; an excellent addition to worm bins Fig — fast-decomposing; a worthwhile compost heap addition in sheltered gardens Rose — compost separately; fallen leaves can carry blackspot spores over winter Bracken — acidifying mulch for ericaceous beds; wear gloves when handling fronds Grass clippings — composts in around 3 weeks; high nitrogen; mix with dry material to prevent compaction 🍂🌿🪲🍃 #LeafMould #GardenCompost #SoilHealth #WildlifeGarden
