@operadammerung I’ve heard one other knitter say that, too. Is there a fibre arts instance?

@operadammerung Have you found a knitting community there? I haven’t moved yet (not on FB or Insta), but #knittingTwitter is where I found new patterns, indie dyers, ideas, & community. Occasionally gay men in elaborate Fair Isle vests…

This year's Birthday Yarn will be revealed on Fri 22 Sept but here's a sneak preview. This special woollen spun yarn is a blend of smooth drapey BFL, with the bouncy froth of Shetland and some luxurious recycled silk, in 1 natural shade (a light grey) and 7 dyed ones. pic.twitter.com/owU5yx0j1z

@LT_customer1st Oooooh, gorgeous 😍. What a pile! I recognise some yarns and patterns in there! I’m trying to build my own stock up but I have a ways to go to get to your level!

On the needles: Aster Tee in gorgeously matched singles from @allyouknitislov (sour grapes) & The Wandering Flock (a touch of mauve). Bought in Barcelona & Philly, respectively, they were stash waiting to be paired 😍. #KnittingTwitter

@JudyWilliams123 Yes, it refers to the weight of the yarn. Although, confusingly, ply can also tell you about the construction of the yarn. But in this case I meant weight; most sock yarn is 4-ply, also known as fingering. Usually get 28 - 32 st per 4”

@LivRunsFast Wait! What’s 4-ply? Is that the width of the yarn on the label? (Yes, I should know this but….🤷‍♀️)

Quick-knit, last-minute mitts for July b-day gift. A few months before the weather will be ready for them, but you never know in England… Autumnal Mitts by Jo Bangles in squishy, delightfully soft Hampton yarn; alpaca 🦙, merino, silk. #KnittingTwitter

@JudyWilliams123 I’ve been doing a lot of 4-ply socks on little needles; was delighted at how quickly these knitted up in DK on 4.0 mm. Recommend as a quick win!

@LT_customer1st Thanks 😊! Recommend the pattern, it’s doing all the heavy lifting here, while being easy to follow. Show us what you find in stash (they’re DK).

@molleo1 My fault 🤦🏻‍♀️! It’s actually called Sugar Pop, not drop. Link below from Sweet Georgia Yarns, available on Ravelry, too. Would love to see your FO!

@JamesFoley71 Love that pattern. It’s how I learned socks and is still my go-to for basics. Good links to video, too 🧦
