Terrifying reality check. Al Jazeera confirms the US and Israel have bombed over 760 schools and 350 health centers in Iran. They are intentionally obliterating mental health hospitals and residential markets. The scale of these war crimes is absolutely sickening.

Biden won for 1 reason: COVID. Incumbents are hard to beat. The virus threw everything so far out of its normal rhythm, people were ready to doublethink a guy who’d been a running joke during Obama & who was clearly losing it. Even then, Trump got the 2nd most votes in history.
Neera Tanden🌻@neeratanden

It's odd how people just memory holes that Joe Biden was the most moderate candidate running in the 2020 primary, won the primary and then beat Trump. Talarico was supported by plenty of moderates in the primary. He's not running as an unapoletic leftist in Texas.

Centrists say centrism wins hard seats. Clinton lost. Kamala lost. Meanwhile Platner and Talarico are polling to flip Republican Senate seats as unapologetic progressives. Offer voters Republican-lite and they'll choose the real thing every time.

It’s shocking how openly and repeatedly the Western media tells you that they simply don’t consider brown people to be human. Among the first casualties of this war were 160 Iranian schoolchildren, but it takes a lost US pilot to bring a human dimension to the slaughter?
Hamza Yusuf@Hamza_a96

“It brings a human dimension to the war…” says Sky News’ military analyst about a missing American pilot from an F-15 jet. Has Sky News ever raised that same human dimension about the US and Israel’s carpet bombing of Gaza, Lebanon and Iran?

Even though green card holders are supposed to have the same constitutional rights as citizens - including due process and free speech - those protections no longer mean anything. People cannot lose their green card status simply because of familial relationships, so the justification shifts here to their alleged support for the Iranian government. But supporting a foreign government is not a criminal offense. And if you begin to treat it as one - as the U.S. government effectively is in this case - then expect a lot more of this. It will not stop here, and it will not remain limited to Iranians. The logic does not contain itself, it expands.

Israel already does pay for a substantial portion of the Iron Dome. But that's not the point. Israel is a strategic ally. Strengthening the relationship helps Americans. Some of the U.S. funding is required to be spent in the United States, helping us directly. But importantly, the U.S. uses Iron Dome cooperation to gain access to missile-defense technology, testing, and battlefield data which inform American systems. Also remember, the Dome is purely defensive. Helping an ally defend themselves is a good thing for America, strategically and morally.
Zeteo@zeteo_news

"[The Iron Dome] costs about $100 million a year. So I don't understand why [Israel] can't fund it. They've got a $45 billion defense budget." Rep. @RoKhanna shares his view with @mehdirhasan on US funding for Israel’s Iron Dome.

BREAKING. Israel is blowing up entire civilian homes in Naqoura, South Lebanon right now. Civilian homes. No military target. No justification. Just pure terror and destruction. This is a war crime in broad daylight. And the world watches in silence.

Happy Easter, Americans. Your tax dollars supplied the weapons that killed this priest earlier this month in southern Lebanon. He was killed in a double-tap strike; he had been tending to the wounded when the Israeli army fired again and killed him.

Absolutely horrifying. Trump and Israel bombed a bridge in Karaj, Iran — while families were nearby enjoying picnics. Then they bombed it again when rescue teams rushed in. Bombing civilians is a war crime. Bombing rescuers is a war crime Bombing infrastructure is a war crime

Watching Israel move into Lebanon, seizing land, destroying everything, and imposing ethnic cleansing on Shia Muslims- to the extent that Druse and Christian Lebanese HIDE their Muslim neighbors- is like watching Germany roll into Czechoslovakia in 1939, while the world yawns.

Israel is destroying the medical system in southern Lebanon, just as it did in Gaza. Systematically and brutally: 1) Israel has killed 53 medical workers, destroyed 87 ambulances or medical centers, and forced five hospitals to close within one month of intensified strikes. Doctors Without Borders has documented a clear pattern of attacks targeting healthcare infrastructure. 2) Attacks include several double-tap strikes, when a second strike hitting first responders after they arrive. On March 28 alone, nine paramedics were killed and seven wounded in five separate incidents. Human Rights Watch has described the pattern as apparently deliberate and potentially constituting war crimes. 3) This is part of the wider plan to ethnically cleanse southern Lebanon, just as similar policies in Gaza supported the ethnic cleansing there. One doctor in Lebanon told Al Jazeera: ""You can't live somewhere that doesn't have basic medical care, and of course it's now created a strain on healthcare facilities here where people are displaced because you now have over a million extra people who are going to need the health system here." 4) Lebanon's healthcare system was already weakened by the 2019 financial crisis and prior conflicts. The attacks are causing long-term harm — treatable injuries worsen, chronic infections develop, and patients requiring ongoing treatments like dialysis or chemotherapy are being relocated further north. Unable to defeat Hezbollah, Israel is simply reproducing it war crimes from Gaza in Lebanon. This is what happens when the world does nothing to prevent Israeli crimes, they do it again. The humanitarian cost will be immense.

Terrifying reality check on Al Jazeera. Israel is systematically detonating and completely destroying entire civilian towns and homes across Southern Lebanon. This is not a war, it is a deliberate campaign of ethnic cleansing and total erasure of Lebanese communities.

In 2026 the United States will spend $838.7 billion on "Defence" Thats more than Russia, China, India and Germany- Combined. 43.7 million Americans live in poverty, and shockingly, 18 US military veterans die by suicide each day in the United States

Indeed, imagine if Iran blew up a bridge in California, Paris, London — just one bridge, and the world would rightly erupt. Yet in the Middle East, it’s bridge after bridge, hospital after hospital, school after school — bombed, erased, normalized and celebrated. Who will hold the powerful accountable?
Mohamad Safa@mhdksafa

Imagine if Iran bombed and destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge in California, what would you call it? TERRORISTS The U.S bombed and destroyed the highest bridge in Iran, the B1 bridge, why do you call it “PEACE”? Bombing a bridge is a war crime under international humanitarian law
