Genuine question: what exactly is pro-American about the Obama/Mamdani worldview? They praise Canada and the anti-American nations of Europe. They don't like the US having rugged individualism. They hate home ownership and property rights. NONE of that is compatible with the original intent of the United States.

Mamdani is just like FDR, who was also a brown Muslim who spoke on his hatred of white people and American culture. They’re basically the same! And of course just like 30s and 40s white Americans, all these brown migrants and refugees have the exact same feelings about America as their white neighbors. Exactly the same! Raise the taxes on the rich (whites) and everyone will get along!!!!!!!! 🌈 💞 🥰

@scrowder Mamdani wants America to improve. The richest country in the world can do what much poorer nations around the world do at the very least. FDR proved that redistributing the wealth away from the very rich to the very poor makes the country far more united, wealthy and powerful.

Mixed people have identity crises because their parents abdicate their responsibility in guiding and forming that identity to schools and social media. She didn’t learn this from her parents, she learned it elsewhere and obviously is too cowardly to face her father and hear his feelings on the matter. Excellent article. This is something that I have felt for a long time. I left Christianity behind about 10 years ago. I was politically conservative then as well, but one thing I did notice that many people I knew who left Christianity or any religion often became far more if not radically left wing. As if they didn’t actually leave religion they just converted to an another faith. They became zealous and dogmatic in their new paradigm. It’s as if they felt everything they previously valued socially, politically, etc, was only tied to faith and not a set of logical reasoning and therefore was wrong and needed to be purged from their very being. For me, and perhaps in part because my education, my conservative beliefs were maintained as I was forced to reevaluate what I believed and found that I maintained those beliefs and values through constructing what a feel is sound reasoning without the assistance of religioius framework. When I engaged with the ideology of the left even without the presupposition of faith, I found much of it irrational and unnatural. Of course there are aspects of me that were changed or dropped without having religion as a guide but ultimately, I found that the majority of how I saw the world was completely maintainable without God.

He posted a video a couple weeks ago denying he was “MAGA” for people he claimed of accusing him of being MAGA or rightwing really. In it, he sounded off on the right like he was reading Reddit or other leftwing talking points. And I’ve watched a lot of his stuff and he does from time to time let his views slip and they sound pretty typical leftwing fair. My overall point is there isn’t any trust or common ground between most religious critics so they aren’t going to take them seriously. And he just said that he wants to destroy a certain group of them, but let’s be clear, it’s definitely more political than Derek lets on. So of course they are extremely hostile and use harsh rhetoric.

Weirdly, or perhaps not so much, drawn largely along Protestant and Papist lines. Trump has indeed been co-opted by Zionism, but the idea that Catholics and Orthodox conservatives would 1) free us from the influence of Israel, and 2) not completely implode politically is a sorry delusion. We have reached the beginning of the end of Christian ideological domination of conservatism. Christians just don’t know it yet.
