One of the cleverest horror scenes in Obsession contains almost no violence at all. It starts as a joke and ends with one of the film’s most unsettling revelations. Desperate to undo the consequences of his wish, Bear calls One Wish Willow’s customer support hoping he can reverse it. The conversation is played for laughs at first, especially with writer-director Curry Barker making a surprise cameo as the deadpan representative who casually explains that wishes can’t be altered once they’re granted. Then the scene takes a chilling turn. Before ending the call, the representative asks Bear a simple question: “Would you like to talk to Nikki?” In the background, faint screams of terror can suddenly be heard. Nikki sounds trapped, panicked, and desperate. Bear immediately hangs up, but the damage is done. What makes the moment so effective is that viewers don’t fully understand its significance until later. The scene quietly foreshadows Nikki’s horrifying fate under the influence of Bear’s wish, long before she accidentally reveals the truth while talking in her sleep. On a rewatch, the screams become one of the movie’s most important clues. Behind the scenes, Barker uses a classic horror technique here: hiding a major revelation inside a seemingly comedic exchange. The customer support call lowers the audience’s guard, making the abrupt shift from absurdity to dread far more powerful. It’s a reminder that in Obsession, the scariest moments often arrive when the film appears to be joking. A simple customer service call somehow becomes one of the movie’s darkest scenes. Human beings really did invent hold music and cosmic horror in the same timeline.

Nikki's fate after the final events of Obsession has been revealed. Nikki was charged with triple homicide; she will probably be arrested.

Why did Soldier Boy and Stormfront age perfectly while the rest of Payback looked their actual age? Is it pure genetics or did the original Compound V just hit different?

If the Oscars are serious about being relevant again, they have to consider a performance like Inde Navarrette’s in OBSESSION for an award. They’ve always overlooked horror, but horror is driving the industry right now. To ignore it is to lose relevance as an awards show.

The secret weapon to defeat Homelander should have been Harper. It's established that when supes survive being hit by the "herogasm beam," they get depowered because the compound V is burned out of their blood. But it's also established that if they're using their powers at the time, they will get stuck that way (e.g., Love Sausage and Termite). So a reasonable super-strategy would have been to have Harper steal the powers of Homelander and at least one other high-tier supe (but preferably as many as possible) and then have Kimiko depower her before her steal timer runs out. Then, she effectively would be stuck with all of their powers forever since the steal timer running out is part of her powers. There are so many funny ways he could have died. The possibilities are almost endless.

Why is Stormfront always drinking through a straw? Does this have some kind of symbolism?

There is NO entity or possession It really keeps bothering me that people keep saying she’s possessed or has an entity inside her. She does not. Curry himself, the person who made the movie said there is not. The wish itself is cursed. The wish itself is cursed because he’s taking away someone’s autonomy. If he wished for money, success etc he’d be fine. He wished to take someone’s autonomy. What we see is a violent psychotic break in someone literally split in two down to the core of their mental. And watching the movie that’s clear, she’s fighting herself, everything she does is combatting herself due to Bears wish to take her autonomy.(He’s a literal rapist btw idk how that is flying over peoples heads either.)

The start of the wish was the creepiest scene for me The way Nikki seems to be calibrating and learning how to be “human”… The way she thought her cat died instead of Bear.. And when she says “The cat, yeah... I'm so sorry... yeah..” She’s so creepy and robotic. And the way she was acting so unpredictable like laughing and smiling one second and then acting sad and scared. She behaves like a child by crossing her arms and then acts silly like she’s keeping a secret. It was also the first time we saw Nikki snap back in and say “this is so weird” and then smiled deviously…It really set the tone for the rest of the movie. I thought to myself “Oh yeah..this is gonna be insane”

Assuming Ryan does survive season 5, would y’all want the Boys universe to continue with him with a spin-off?
