@ladvlazarus Rice had Armand acting like an absolute lunatic for no clear reason, and I don’t think that works with the more complex version of him we get later in the book series or the version of him the show is going for.

@ladvlazarus They’ve changed a lot of Armand’s more evil actions to make them have a more clear cut thought process/motivation behind them. I don’t think that’s watering him down, but instead trying to make him a more coherent character with a clearer internal self

I can’t think of one good reason for Lestat to lie about this. This wouldn’t be the first time the show changed up Armand’s actions from what he did in the book, and I’m pretty sure that’s what’s happening here.

@dantesletters1 I mean, yes, and also, Armand was indoctrinated into a cult where he was given these responsibilities and forced to see Vampires loose themselves over and over. Armand’s expression is grim recognition because he’s seen this all before and knows how it plays out
