I know it's impossible to have a nuanced take on this topic because the second you talk about it, you get the most deranged idiots imaginable coming in to drag the convo down to a room temperature IQ. But that shouldn't take away from the fact that a conversation will inevitably be had about the influence Israel has on American foreign policy. No matter what happens going forward, that reality will inevitably be revisited and re-evaluated. Groypers aside, there is absolutely a legitimate critique to be made over the state of US-Israel relations, and online idiots do not get to be used as justification for not having that conversation. Only one country should ever decide American foreign policy, and that is America herself.

Anime in the West seems so right-wing or libertarian coded in ways that it generally doesn't in Asia. I suspect it's because in the US, anime fandom overlaps with contrarian, anti-mainstream spaces such as 4chan, Gamergate-era activism and alt-right meme aesthetics from 2016. In the case of Argentina, it's even more overt. Javier Milei's libertarian + anarcho-capitalist movement became meme-fused with Chainsaw Man. Supporters cosplayed as Pochita at rallies because Milei's "chainsaw plan" to slash government spending mirrored the character's vibe, and young male fans flooded his events with anime energy. Milei even pushed libertarian cartoons like Tuttle Twins onto state TV. In a post-God nihilistic West, where cartoons increasingly feel like vehicles for postmodernism, relativism, or "wokism," anime, by contrast, frequently delivers straightforward mythic storytelling - clear good/evil (or at least personal stakes), transcendence through struggle, and virtues that feel timeless. For many Western kids with high openness and creativity, anime programmed their psyches with the right values and imbued them with enough resilience to reject loser progressivism and decadent socialism. Given Japan's cultural baseline - socially conservative, homogeneous, and values hierarchy, duty, hard work, and harmony (wa) - its cultural exports were always going to be conservative by default. Pokémon, Dragon Ball, Fullmetal Alchemist, Tsubasa Chronicle, and Neon Genesis Evangelion are all soaked with pre-modern, universal values. Most are heavy with themes about self-improvement, heroism, and duty. Shonen is basically "boy becomes man through trials" - friendship forged in battle, overcoming despair, defending what's right. Dragon Ball glorifies striving; Evangelion, despite the existential despair, forces viewers to confront suffering and choose growth anyway. Tsubasa Chronicle channels classical chivalry - man's purpose as protector/servant to women/loved ones, echoing traditional gender roles without apology. There are some degenerate anime cartoons of course, and some do have anti-fascist, environmentalist, or queer-friendly themes. But by and large most retain mythic structures that qualify it as based by Western standards.

I always found it bizarre that Tucker was getting VIP access to high-level meetings while openly opposing Trump, and even weirder that he was glazing Trump after getting roasted on Truth Social. So, that was Tucker trying to stay in Trump's good graces so he can keep collecting intel lmao. And the CIA outsmarted him, his Russian buddies, and his Iranian buddies. In his interview with Piers Morgan, Tucker kept obsessively, almost suspiciously repeating that all he ever discussed with Trump was Iran, desperately telling Trump he shouldn't do anything, and that from his private meetings with Trump, it genuinely didn't seem like Trump would actually do anything. It was weird that he was taking notes and noticing these minute details while begging Trump not to strike. He seems to be hyperaware about it, not just casually giving advice. And now he admits he had direct contact with Iranian officials before operation epic fury. So the CIA was actively monitoring Iranian communications. They informed Trump that Tucker was secretly back-channeling with Tehran, and instead of cutting Tucker off immediately, Trump deliberately started inviting Tucker even more frequently to highly sensitive meetings, knowing full well Tucker would relay the info to the Iranians either directly or through his behavior/public statements insisting that the U.S. wasn't seriously planning an attack. Iran's intel is notoriously bad, they rely almost entirely on Russia for help, and so Iran completely swallowed the info flowing through Tucker and confidently concluded the threat was not imminent. Khamenei and his top officials were casually above ground and in broad daylight when the strike came, gathered in 3 separate meetings simultaneously, completely exposed. And now that they're dead, Tucker's usefulness ended and now the CIA is aggressively going after him. This is exactly why Trump called Tucker "not smart enough to understand" lmao. This is why I always trust the process with Trump whenever he does anything with an intelligence agency like the CIA. Trust me, they think about ALL of this, and everything they strategically show you in the media is carefully calculated. It is literally their job to think about this. They have a plan for everything.
