Michigan will play UCLA today with no chance of advancing (and in Michigan's case as a team below the bubble, no chance of a NCAA bid). Even if they win, it creates a "tie" in their pool, which by rule still advances UCLA as the highest seed.

The Big Ten baseball tournament will conduct 6 games games on Thursday & Friday, airing all of them on BTN. But thanks to the league's dumb pool-play format and seed-based tiebreaker, 4 of those games will have literally no consequence on who advances. Just props for commercials

@_ZachShaw Who are the "genuises" who dreamed up this format? Now they are forced to play another game vs. UCLA with literally no chance of moving on (win or lose) or getting a NCAA bid!
That said, bottom 9th they had bases loaded with 1 out and couldn't score...end of story.

No, Ono already had an offer from University of Florida for $3M, and he knew if he signed the UM Regents’ Op-Ed pushing back on Trump pressuring universities, UF’s offer would be immediately rescinded. Ono was not motivated by politics, but self-interest. He is a chameleon.

@dougastevens @Johnubacon Spot on...he was a "breath of fresh air" when we really needed it on campus. But his time at UC and UBC did not reflect the skill set required for this position. Hopefully the search firm/process will be much different this time around. Accountability matters more than ever.
