If you land on both feet at the same time with the jump stop, you can step through with either foot to shoot or pass. That gives you an advantage over the defender not knowing which was your pivot foot. I was doing this in the 90’s for sure…learned it from teammates. I didn’t think this was rare or a new concept, I actually see it utilized in the WNBA often.
