Great exchange with Hon. @MosesMagogo and @OfficialFUFA on the growing role of sports in national development. 🇺🇬⚽️
Beyond bringing people together, sports can also be a driver of development by enhancing tourism, expansion of infrastructure, local economic development & jobs for the youth.

Access to clean and safe water is fundamental for all 💧- it touches every part of life, from what we drink to how we grow food, support health services, and keep livestock healthy 🐄, ultimately helping build lasting peace in communities ✨.
In Karamoja 🇺🇬, @UNDP and @KoicaUganda, through the BRICK Project, have expanded access to safe, reliable water by installing solar-powered water supply systems ☀️💧- supporting both people and animals.
Three piped water supply systems and six production wells have now been handed over to communities in Kaabong, Kotido, and Moroto 🙌💦.

“The discussion in the workshop once again showed that localizing the SDGs is not only a policy imperative, it is a practical necessity. The SDGs will be achieved through enabling districts, cities, municipalities, and communities to be part of their accelerated delivery. The consultations demonstrated the impressive progress Uganda continues to make in translating global goals into local development realities.”

According to a scale audit conducted with guidance from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (@UNBSug), 4 out of 5 traders tested failed to meet the acceptable weighing tolerance, meaning consumers could be paying for more beans than they actually receive.
From imbalanced scales to weights outside the legal 15 gram allowance, the findings raise serious questions about accuracy in everyday trade.
This investigation, “Faulty Scales Cost Kampala Consumers,” highlights why verified and certified weighing instruments matter for fair trade, consumer protection, and trust in our markets.
Are you really getting what you pay for?
