I love the world of 90s #Batman. The cast of heroes & villains, the look and feel of Gotham City, the lore and worldbuilding, the variety of stories. It had it all. For me this IS modern Batman at its peak. There’s been some ok stuff since, but this era will always be my Batman

@MPraeceptorum If you love 80s/90s Batman, you should definitely be reading Tom Taylor’s Detective. As someone who grew up on that era, that’s the Batman I remember.

I’ve seen a number of fans lately take issue with the pacing and plotting of Matt Fraction’s #Batman run. For me though it’s a return to form. The episodic A/b/c plotting of the 80s/90s. Not the 6-12 issue A-plot-only structure recent readers are used to: batlore.wordpress.com/2026/06/05/fra…

@TheBatFan24 Yep. Agreed. Each issue feels like a meal. It’s not 6 months fighting just Savage, then another 6 just fighting Ivy, and so on.

@MPraeceptorum I’m loving it. Rather than taking 6 months to advance one plot, we’re advancing at least 3 in that same amount of time. I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth every month
