For #tdsb teens -- board has not decided whether to run normal second semester or continue with modified. “We continue to consult with Toronto Public Health regarding the Semester 2 timetable and will share details and guidelines as soon as they are confirmed.” @tdsb #onted

so, i learned a whole lot today. firstly, things will never go back to “normal”. second, anxiety may look a lot like defiance these days. third, a whole lot of assumptions about behaviour and learning must be tossed. we gotta take our time with this school year, fam. (🧵 done)

today i took my students outside. we gathered on the grass in a circle. one student didn’t want to join the circle. he strolled over late. as everyone settled on the grass, including me, he remained standing up. i didn’t know his name, so i made eye contact with him (a 🧵)

@myislanddreamer I can’t imagine how hard this is but what I want to say is thank you for everything you do to engage your students. Please take care of yourself and if this means stepping away, please do. We need teachers like you to be healthy, mentally and physically. 🙏❤️
