@historysandoval I gave choices but were pre-made assignments. I wanted to leave it open to interpretation like yours, but this year's group needed a lot of guidance. I might try to find a way to combine both this year!

@historysandoval A lot of buy in at the beginning of the year & right before the end of the semester. Some clearly did the XC to get the points, but some really got into the assignments, which seemed to boost their participation in class & help them connect to the aligned units.

They made notes on the suspect, connecting them to the Ind. Rev. & the task before receiving the next task. At the end, students made a mind-map that included results of the Ind. Rev., how those effected White Chapel, how "Jack" exploited them, & reforms made after the murders.

Each team got a clue tracking sheet on which to complete their task (tinyurl.com/yckes3kp) and 6 tasks (tinyurl.com/37e34bfv). After each task, they called me over to check their work and received a "Suspect".
