The pace of work on the Irese–Onyarubulem Flyover is impressive. If the current momentum continues with what I witnessed, the project should be ready for commissioning in a few months. The OUR EASE agenda of Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa continues to deliver visible progress.

Education and data are the lifeblood of any society, capturing our ideas, preserving research, and recording the intellectual history of a nation. Today, I joined the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) focal persons and institutional representatives from across Nigeria at the 2026 National Capacity Building Programme on the NERD Policy. In just four months, N.E.R.D has preserved nearly 100,000 student submissions, onboarded 350+ institutions, and enrolled over 133,000 students and 6,800 lecturers. Every academic record tells the story of our nation’s knowledge and innovation—and NERD ensures these ideas are securely preserved, verifiable, and accessible for future generations. To promote excellence, we have approved the NERD Annual National Laureate Prize, awarding outstanding undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral theses with ₦5–20 million, starting November 2026. Compliance is now required for NYSC participation or exemption, and institutions must align with the policy to access services from TETFund, NUC, NBTE, NCCE, and ITF. I urge all NERD focal persons, institutional leaders, and partner agencies to uphold compliance and safeguard the credibility of Nigeria’s academic records. Through NERD, we are preserving our academic history, securing knowledge, and laying the foundation for future scholarship in Nigeria. #AlausaEduReform
