Wo immer ich mein Buch vorstelle (zuletzt Saarbrücken), sprechen mich Leser an, die es seelisch schwierig finden, die Nachrichten zu verfolgen. Mir geht es genauso, nur habe ich keine Wahl.
Der Verlust menschlicher Massstäbe bedrückt - das Gefühl, dass es keinen Boden mehr gibt.

There is a moment in every relationship when you cross a line so spectacularly that no apology can quite cover it. America crossed that line. Then kept going.
Since Trump took office, the United States has threatened to annex its closest neighbor, tried to grab a Danish territory, attacked its oldest allies, declared the EU an enemy, mocked soldiers who died under the NATO flag, praised the man those soldiers were buried defending against, hosted Kremlin officials in the actual Capitol building, rigged European elections in favor of parties that want to tear Europe apart, betrayed Ukraine in front of the entire world, and slapped punitive tariffs on every friend it had left.
At some point this stops being controversial foreign policy. It becomes a declaration of intent.
So when Washington arrived demanding allied support for what history will likely record as the most catastrophically misconceived military adventure since someone thought Iraq would be quick and easy, the answer was no. Non. Nein. No. Because you do not march alongside a country that spent two years making clear it considers you the enemy.
America did not lose its allies. It fired them. Systematically, gleefully, and on camera.
And now it is losing a war. Alone. The way you fight when you have spent years ensuring there is nobody left willing to stand next to you.

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

Scientists have confirmed something almost unbelievable… forests aren’t silent at all.
Researchers from the University of Florence discovered that trees communicate using ultrasonic sound pulses — frequencies so high (20–200 kHz) that humans can’t hear them.
In the forests of Casentino Forest, European beech trees under drought stress began emitting rapid ultrasonic “clicks.” These weren’t random noises — they were warnings.
And here’s the wild part…
Nearby trees heard the signal and reacted within hours.
Before experiencing any drought themselves, they started closing their stomata (tiny pores on leaves) to conserve water proving they received and acted on the warning.
Scientists traced the sound to tiny internal events called cavitation microscopic bubbles forming and collapsing inside the tree’s water transport system. These clicks travel through air and soil, reaching trees up to 50 meters away.

Katherina Reiche, selbst Diplom-Chemikerin, betreibt einen Fossil-Lobbyismus, der so schamlos ist, dass dabei sogar physikalische Grundlagen und offensichtliche Fakten beiseitegeschoben werden. Das ist in seiner Realitätsverweigerung kaum noch von Corona-Leugnung zu unterscheiden. Unserem Land und seiner Zukunft wird auf diese Weise aktiv schwerer Schaden zugefügt.

Er zeichnet ein Szenario aus Krieg, Chaos, inszeniertem oder instrumentalisiertem Terror und neuen Wahlgesetzen, mit denen Demokratie Schritt für Schritt ausgehöhlt werden könnte, nicht als Unfall, sondern als autoritäres Projekt. Besonders bitter: Snyder sagt, Trump sei politisch eigentlich schwach, gefährlich wird er vor allem, wenn wir so tun, als wären all diese Muster überraschend und „nur Rhetorik“.

He was 31 years old.
And that’s almost all we know about him.
Because the internet was cut by the regime and sources tell us that his family was threatened into silence.
You get hanged for the crime of protesting with empty hand in 21st century and some still call this regime a normal government.
Many more are waiting to be executed for the same reason.

This morning the Islamic regime in Iran killed two more protester by hanging. Look at his face. This is one of them; Mohammadamin Biglari. Only 19. A caregiver. A young man trying to hold his world together after losing his mother, while taking care of his sick father. Right now, Iranians are living under bombs and fear. And still, the regime finds the time, to take prisoners out of their cells, one by one, and execute them to send a message to the rest of the population: Don’t come back to the streets. Why would this regime stop executing protesters? When the threats, of this war target a nation, but not the men who hang its youth. When Western leaders speak of international law, yet fail to use it to hold these crimes accountable. 💔
