Today, I close a chapter as a @EU_Commission spokesperson for Neighbourhood & Enlargement & International partnerships, a great privilege and a challenge for the last 5 years. Proud of our work to bring closer our future Member states & bolster 🇪🇺 ‘s partnerships across the 🌍

The announced cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah is very encouraging news. First and foremost for the Lebanese & Israeli people affected by the fighting. Lebanon will have an opportunity to increase internal security and stability thanks to Hezbollah’s reduced influence.

Leaders of the G7 are united in expressing their deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the Middle East. We condemn in the strongest terms Iran’s direct military attack against Israel, which constitutes a serious threat to regional stability.
