@Chandler_Rome The most surprising and quiet resurgence has been C. Walk. If he had played last year, like he is now, we'd have made the playoffs ... or Framber not completely melting down. That too.
@AstrosFansUK 1. I really really want to agree with you (Jesus Sanchez AND Dubon are hitting lights out right now for other teams. BUT ...
2. Very very small sample size
3. Cintron is w/Rangers and they're also hitting very well ...
We will have to wait and see!
@brianmctaggart Hey! That's my hubby! I dared him to wear the jersey (since he's had bad luck wearing current player jerseys) to change the luck and Stros win! 😁😁
Like the Dodgers or not & I’m all Jays: their spending is never wasted. No dead contracts. When they pay, it works. Other big spenders can’t say same. Plus they draft & trade well & their biz/marketing/sales acumen is fantastic. Don’t have to “like them” but you must respect them
Dodgers fans will argue until they are blue in the face that Mookie Betts was “cleared” of any wrongdoing in 2018 despite his best statistical season, by far, but will boo Altuve for “cheating” despite evidence he didn’t and hitting much better on the road than home in 2017. 🤷♂️
@AaronLevine_ Maybe if you hadn't expressed happiness over a player getting injured ... 🤷🏻♀️ As a sports guy, fairly shocking you'd have this type of mentality...cheering players getting hurt. @fox13seattle you ok with a guy like this representing you?
@BronxBmbrz Remember when the Yankees got swept in ALCS after chanting "we want Houston?" Remember when the Yankees played the worst defensive inning in history of the WS & lost? Remember when the two clips here are from two separate games & have nothing to do with each other? Good times!
@decaire_dylan@BronxBmbrz I think the only tool here is the guy who either 1) doesn't realize it's TWO SEPARATE GAMES and have NOTHING to do with each other; OR 2) Does know and still responds to this ignorant post .. Option #1 or #2 means the only tool in the room is you.
@brianmctaggart Look at Blue Jays & Brewers. They have a balance hitting philosophy. Hard contact, base runners, situational play, working counts. Sound familiar? It's not a coincidence. It's the strategy & approach. We need to get back to that.
In addition to Alex Cintrón, the Astros are also not retaining hitting coach Troy Snitker and Major League coach Michael Collins, who worked closely with the catchers, according to multiple sources.
@FourSavages If Judge had hit a grand slam here, the Yankees would have ... lost 5-10 (after the other run Yankees got in). Stanton and Chisholm also struck out and ground out that inning, promptly in a row. Relying on one guy to win games for you is a formula for losing.
@SleeperAstros Yeah, that trade is going to be for some 2nd tier arm that "they see something in" while doing nothing else. We're going to become ATL 2.0 "Lots of talent and young and exciting team" while doing absolutely nothing.
Dana Brown on plans for this offseason:
- Want to add an arm (via trade) and a left handed bat
- They are very interested in bringing Victor Caratini back
@BenOndaTop Crane dismantled a championship team for some inexplicable reason. However, the one thing you CAN'T blame him for is Bregman. Bregman did not want to be here. Crane made a very competitive offer and Bregman refused to even entertain it. Not Crane's fault.
@BOSSportsGordo Ok! You heard it here first! Manifest it! (more likely, to be spiteful the Rangers will play the best series of their lives to knock us Astros out :-(
The bad news: the Red Sox didn’t clinch a postseason berth today.
The good news: for the Red Sox to miss the playoffs, they would have to get swept by the Tigers, the Astros would have to sweep the Angels, and the Guardians would have to take at least 2/3 from the Rangers.
If the Red Sox go 3-3, are they guaranteed to get in because of the Guardians and a tigers playing each other?
I feel like I’m missing a scenario in which they could still miss at 3-3.
@brianmctaggart JFC. We're just starting the 2nd inning with our ace pitching. Can you just not? Why not pull this little "gem" out after the game is over? 🙄
The Astros scored first in all three games against the Rangers, but the Mariners strike first tonight.
Astros are 30-48 when the opponent scores first.
Listen. Daikin Park is sold out this weekend. We're playing the Mariners. This stadium, that staff, they're not used to a full house. They can't kick us all out. All I'm saying is, make the Mariners miserable. Be ruthless. Push the limit. No one's gonna stop you. Let 'em know.
