@rickygervais Hadn't seen my dad for months. Visited him at the weekend and managed to get the famously stoic, stoney-hearted old sod to watch Afterlife. So he can cry after all. Some beers later came Derek. Great to hear him laugh again too. Thanks @rickygervais for showcasing humanity.

First lesson with Year 7 on rotation was to evaluate prior knowledge of colour theory, before understanding the order of the colour wheel. As an introduction, students familiarised the order of colours on a zentangle insect image. Thank you @art_g6! @ChallneyBoys @ChallneyDesign

Once you get into the habit of properly checking for understanding there's no going back. It's frankly terrifying how unaware I used to be of my students' understanding before sending them off on independent practice. 1
