Honored to be selected for the 2025 University Research Council (URC) Faculty Scholars Research Award Program! In collaboration with Dr. Victoria Heasley from @uc_health, we will be using this award to develop non-surgical therapies for removing painful bone spurs

This is our lab’s first publication on a project that was fully initiated at UC and is featured in the journal’s “Biomaterials Science Emerging Investigator Series” of articles. Thanks to the Biomaterials Science editors for the submission invitation!

Led by the recently-graduated Dr. Rei Dos Santos, he and the rest of our team developed a new moldable polymer/ceramic composite material to promote healing in large-scale bone defects. These antioxidant implants were ROS-degradable, non-thermogenic, and highly osteogenic.
