Hij noemde dat toen “een pleister” en dat is het denk ik ook, want dit is waarschijnlijk nog steeds niet genoeg om geforceerd laden in kwalificatie te voorkomen. Op het laatste moment een regelwijziging voor de kwalificatie in Japan, komende zaterdag. Maximale laadcapaciteit in een ronde op Suzuka verlaagd van 9 naar 8 MJ. Dit omdat, zo meldt de FIA, een kwalificatie een ‘performance challenge’ moet zijn. Iets minder managen dus. #F1

🚨 #F1 manufacturers and the FIA have agreed a last-minute rule change to qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix in a bid to avoid energy management headaches. The single lap recharge limit - which was originally going to be 9MJ for Suzuka - will be dropped to 8MJ. This should reduce the need for excessive super clipping or lift-and-coast tactics in fight for grid positions.

@F1GuyDan I don’t believe it is, see my comments; Mmm…. Seems counterproductive to me… so earlier out of ful power, thus not on the edge driving again. They should increase the swing in power usage (I believe that’s currently 4MJ) to 20MJ instead!

This is good news in terms of it being a bandaid fix for Suzuka but these regulations have really dropped the ball when it comes to qualifying & its importance to what F1 is.
