@MartinVickers Difficult call. Martin, I want to start a new business right now. I don’t need to borrow, but none of the banks are allowing people to open new business accounts. Surely this will impact economic recovery in 2021?

Having spent last couple of days being briefed by ministers & local health chiefs I will support the tier system. The approach is sensible. It's a blow for many local businesses but we've got to squeeze out the virus. Better a few extra weeks of restrictions than prolonging agony

@DGWilkinson Many respected experts say the opposite. Look around other European countries they re all following similar policies. They are doing that Because they are following consensus of expert opinion. They are not acting on a whim they are following the evidence.

@MartinVickers London was badly hit in the spring by the virus - everyone had to suffer. Now the north is badly hit and London is just walking away from them. Thought we was all in this together. All of this has confirmed there is a divide

As a constituency MP, I will champion the bid by @ABPHumber. This bid includes the UK's largest port complex and will provide new and exciting job and investment opportunities.

It's now vital that we have a meaningful bidding window so that the best bids can be developed. This is not just a policy for England but the whole of the UK and I urge the Devolved Administrations to seize the freeports opportunity in their nations as well.

I am delighted that the #freeport bidding process opens in England today. The Government has responded to the key concerns that the APPG has heard from industry and I have every confidence that many strong bids will be submitted.
