Dear married men, I operate a one income household, & I am the sole provider of my lovely family. You don't have to be like me. It's a choice that me and my lovely wife made. If you are operating a two income household, there is nothing wrong with it. But please know that as your wife is growing financially and in her career, you too need to grow equally or more. And even if she outgrows you financially (because you are not God), do not delegate your primary duties to her because of it. And if the entire duties are too much for you to carry, make sure that you carry the responsibility of feeding the home and paying the rent. She can take care of the rest if you're not able to. What your wife and children would eat, and where they would live, are more important than what they wear and other things they need to survive. Your wife would appreciate and respect you, even if she's supporting you in those other areas. Do not dim her growth because you're afraid of what she may become. Appreciate her, and show her that if you had more, you'd do more or all. Do not feel entitled to it. And always remember: Keep telling her that you know that you're owing her. There is married woman in this community. I have been canceling her for years, and even had to chat with her husband one time. Each time I chat with her, I'll plead with her not to leave her marriage. Then I noticed her silence for months. My instinct told me something was wrong with their marriage. We chatted not too long ago, and I asked her a direct question. Her marriage is over. She moved out of her matrimonial home with their children to go rent a new place. Her family has returned her bride price to her husband's family. This is a marriage of about 5 years. I asked her: Do you regret walking away from your marriage? I want to specially celebrate @Rennyfadipe, today. It's her birthday! Morenike is a seasoned HR executive. Many of you may not know her, but she's a core Agbafian and one of my closest follower. She has been here for a very long time, observing from the background, & comments sparingly. And it's understandable, because she's a career woman who handles very sensitive position, & her views may be misconstrued by people who may not understand her. But in our DMs, we are good chat buddies. So I am introducing her today. In December last year, Morenike reached out to me, that she wanted to gift my lovely wife a bucket of Greek yogurt, and my lovely children, too. My wife and children got her gift. My children were gifted a bottle roll of sweet yogurt. My son finished them under 5 days 😂😂. Morenike has on different occasions, gifted silently to some Agbafians. And she's a also a subscriber to my page, too. She has also shared some stories anonymously, that taught many of us valuable lessons. So, today being her special day, I would want us to wish her all the best that life can offer her. May her kindness be rewarded with more kindness.
