@NienkeMarel We are probably filling in the same type of reference letter form. I am so impressed that scientists could use things as "top 5%" without telling the top 5% of which typical sample (all student starting university, students of the master program, random person in the street).

@astropierre Pas besoin de solution pour les membes du consortium Euclid! C'est une image marquante qu'on a beaucoup vu en interne. Ca a l'air fun comme ça, mais c'était pas un super nouvelle de voir cela apparaitre.

Réponse de l'image-mystère : Ce que nous voyons ici est une radiographie de la structure interne des panneaux solaires du satellite @Euclid_FR, imprimée sur le capteur VIS par des rayons X... envoyés par le soleil lors d'une grosse éruption solaire en juillet dernier. 1/2

@jeremyphoward @GregHerczeg @fringetracker It is not the same to write "I feel that" on twitter than writting "I found that" on a research paper. "The data suggests that" is often a more comfortable statement (even if academia pushes to sell it much more).

@GregHerczeg @fringetracker I feel exactly the same. The passive voice is the only way to put yourself outside of the sentence. The constant "we" (or worst "I") of the active form can be very uncomfortable for some of us.

@mixlamalice Par exemple, 2:30 au 100m, c'est l'arrière du peloton sur un triathlon long sans être perdu dans la pampa. Donc, 3:00 sans équipement, c'est pas si mal.

Last night we run the Paris 2024 Olympic mass marathon together with @MatBethermin. And wow that was so rough. The heat, the insane hills, running at night. Once in a lifetime experience and we finished but that was not easy. The views and atmosphere were magnificent though 😃

@FFLose @PatrickAdemo Parreil ici, ce genre de grosse descente six semaines après un Ironman je me suis dit que c'était vraiment limite et que fallait faire gaffe à pas se blesser. Par contre, ensuite, la remonté des quais en pleine nuit, c'était ouf!
