Guys, women successfully petitioned for laws to protect themselves and young girls. This is an issue that concerns them, they have a fundamental right to legal protection and every right to feel safe and protected. They spoke up and were heard. As men, we have our own concerns as well. For example, some men would prefer mandatory paternity DNA testing at birth. We also have the right to petition and be heard. There are a few ways to approach this process. First option is to write a formal “Law Reform Project Proposal” to the Zambia Law Development Commission. However, we need at least 100 signatures for the proposal to carry weight. I’ll share a draft a proposal for those who are interested. We are not in competition with our women. It is 2026, and both genders should be aware that they have the right to live in a society protected by fair laws.
