@MaizeingPete Nichols ultra wings. Have been using them for 30 plus years. Tried others along the way but don't seem to wear as well.

What are you guys doing with cultivator sweeps now? I’ve never had knock ons, seems like a good idea if they stay. What’s the best value for cost/longevity ? Lots of rocks here so cast are prone to break. The Nichols that Argis sells ok? Salford 550 if that matters. TIA

Unbelievable. This girl has been banned from the University of Guelph campus FOR LIFE due to being in the vicinity of her family members conversation with a group of people. The Campus Safety Office felt that what they were talking about was sufficient enough to ban her & her family member from being anywhere on University of Guelph property forever. Canada is in trouble.

A whole convoy of empty oil tankers on the way to the US to fill up. It could have been Canada but we have land acknowledgments to do and carbon tax instead.

A living farm system weather that’s relay cropping, alley cropping, or @stockcropper means we don’t kill anything. The wheat here we will keep… and harvest it. Between harvest and saving the $ in glyphosate… that’s a $500/ac difference. The math becomes at what density and spacing does it need to be to not have a negative effect on soybean production. We’re planting 3,4, or 5 rows 7” apart between 45” on center wheat This allows about 10” of ☀️ to be able to penetrate to drive the soybeans to blooms and pods before we harvest the wheat. Today’s April 8th… a wheat harvest is expected around June 25th so about 75-80 days of cohabitation. If it shall rain hard… and a bunch the wheat will protect the soybeans allowing them to breath. If it gets dry the wheat will block the wind and most of the sunlight to keep the beans from burning up. That is where the discipline comes in. A 20% seeding rate drinks a little less water… and the spacing leaves somewhat of a 💧 reservoir in the middle 15” so the beans and the wheat can live a great life together. Get busy living. #farmweird

@KevinSerfas @peiscooter Interesting. We run 20" on our farm not very common here. Have done so since 97. Tried 30" 6 yrs ago before building our current planter. Found we have much better weed control especially for some of our tougher weeds. Water retention is another plus due to the quicker canopy.

@MathewWechsel @peiscooter We have 15, 22 and 30. Of course we can’t cultivate the 15. In the next 24 months we will switch everything to 22.

@peiscooter We use it in potatoes for sure. Like what it does there so figured it should work in corn and seed canola. Plus we think it will eliminate a spray pass. Will see I guess.

A family from Brampton thought they’d found the perfect shortcut, dumping a mountain of household trash in a quiet Ontario cornfield. They thought they were being slick—until they realized they’d left behind shipping labels with their full address printed right on them. The farmer who discovered the mess wasn’t looking for a legal battle; he preferred a more personal delivery. He loaded their garbage into his tractor’s front-end loader and drove straight to their suburban driveway. When he knocked, a woman answered and quickly tried to play it cool, denying she was the person named on the packages. But the plan fell apart when a younger girl stepped to the door. The farmer pointed to a discarded toy in the pile and asked, “Is that your stuffed animal?” The girl’s honest nod was all the confirmation he needed. Out of the kindness of his heart, the farmer tipped the loader, returning every bit of the family’s junk right onto their doorstep. The lesson is clear: you can try to outsmart a farmer, but you’ll never outwork one. 🚜 Don’t mess with the people who feed you!

@MaizeingPete Opportunity for our energy came knocking with the start of Russia/Ukraine war. Canada should have started fast tracking every energy project under the sun then. Opportunity presents itself again for our own energy sovereignty and to export and we got nothing.

Every 1 million tonnes of lost urea production in the world in 2026 reduces grain production by 7-8 million tonnes. A sobering thought.

@DaveGrenier8 @EricLDaugh Its not that simple to pull a truck that size into a grass median, I got ran off the highway by a truck once into a grass median and it almost flipped me over. A truck would jack knife. I used to be a dispatcher for a Trucking company; it's not that simple.

They said take the Bible off the packaging. In-N-Out said no. We won’t remove biblical verses from our packaging. That’s not marketing. That’s conviction. John 3:16 and Revelation 3:20 stay right where they belong. While corporations fold under pressure and scrub anything that offends the culture, In-N-Out stands firm and refuses to bow. This is what it looks like to hold the line when the world demands compromise. Faith is not a liability. The Word of God is not a PR problem. It is truth. And any company bold enough to say so deserves to be recognized. Are you ready to support businesses that refuse to deny Christ?

Via Police Report I’ve been a cop for 15 years. I pulled a guy over last night. He was doing 85 in a 55. Weaving. I walked up to the window ready to write a reckless driving ticket. Maybe even take him in. When he rolled down the window, he wasn't drunk. He was shaking. "My daughter," he gasped. "She's at Children's Hospital. The chemo isn't working. They called... they said I need to hurry." I looked at his eyes. You can’t fake that kind of terror. I folded my ticket book. "Follow me," I said. I got back in my cruiser, flipped on the lights and sirens, and I escorted him the 20 miles to the hospital. I cleared every intersection for him. We made a 30-minute trip in 15. He ran inside without looking back. I waited in the parking lot for an hour. Just in case. He came out later, saw me, and walked over. He looked hollowed out. "Did I make it?" I asked. "Yeah," he whispered. "I got to hold her hand while she went. You got me there." He tried to shake my hand, but he collapsed into my arms instead. Sometimes, to serve and protect means breaking the speed limit.
