For example, in reading about Sednaya in Syria, I had to dig into YouTube to find accounts of what actually happened. Like this account from Mazen al-Hamada: youtube.com/watch?v=idaQR4… I understand that it's hard to hear, but it seems like a strange taboo to me.

@FreefromTorture I'd like to understand why it is that news articles about torture often avoid details? How will people be moved if we're so often spared the details? It can often feel like news on climate collapse with the consequent starvation, flooding, fires airbrushed out.
