Human beings have the right to become whatever they choose. They may call themselves wise, civilized, enlightened, democratic, revolutionary, spiritual, superior, or just. History is filled with individuals and nations crowning themselves with such titles. But perhaps the one right humanity should never possess is the right to rewrite its own deeds after they have been done. The greatest manipulations in history are not always committed through weapons, but through memory. Facts are edited. Motives are purified. Violence is renamed necessity. Oppression becomes civilization. Betrayal becomes diplomacy. And with time, the guilty often become historians of their own crimes. I sometimes imagine a future technology capable of recording human actions with terrifying fidelity; not merely conversations or images, but the moral atmosphere surrounding actions themselves. A system that preserves events beyond propaganda, beyond selective memory, beyond political convenience. Not necessarily to punish, but to prevent reality from being murdered after the event itself has already occurred. Even intimacy, secrecy, and private life (though deserving protection) would still leave traces, hints, and echoes. Because no action exists in isolation. Human conduct always spills into consequences. Such a system would transform everything: interpersonal relationships, families, communities, religious institutions, governments, nations, and international politics. Many of the heroes of history might collapse under transparent memory. Many villains may turn out more human than mythology allowed. Entire civilizations would lose the luxury of self-manufactured innocence. Perhaps this is why human beings fear perfect remembrance. Forgetting is not always mercy; sometimes it is strategy. And maybe one of humanity’s deepest instincts is not merely the desire to survive, but the desire to control the narrative of survival.

Why are ibo people asking Gowon to apologize for what he did during the biafran war? Have they apologized for what they did to people in the south south and what they did to Yoruba people at Ore before brig Adekunle Benjamin pounced on them?

The same people who are quick to share alleged photos and videos of kidnapped victims are often the first to dismiss rescue operations as fake or recycled. If the news isn’t negative, they don’t want it anywhere near their timeline.

It is okay to take a step back and see if the energy you put out is coming back to you. If you stopped doing everything you do, would they even notice, or would they just find someone else to use? Love yourself enough to leave where you are not celebrated.

Media Framing of Crime Along Ethnic Lines: Divisive. As an Igbo man, I have endured stereotypes, judgment, and labelling solely based on my ethnic origins. This is not an isolated Igbo experience. Most Nigerians have, at some point, been reduced to their ethnicity rather than recognised for their true character. I understand the pain of the ordinary Fulani man today, often unfairly judged by the actions of criminals he does not support, has never met, and who are not representative of his people. Even in America, such unjust labelling fueled the civil rights movement and prompted Martin Luther King Jr. to declare that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin. Every Nigerian ethnic group is known for its unique traditions, occupations, skills, and strengths. Crime, however, has no ethnicity. A thief is a thief. A terrorist is a terrorist. A kidnapper is a kidnapper. They are bad actors, not representatives of any people. They must be identified, arrested, and punished according to the law. We must decisively abandon the dangerous practice of blaming entire ethnic groups for the actions of a few criminals. It is unjust, it breeds hatred, and it damages our national unity. Let us proudly celebrate our diverse cultures, talents, and contributions, rather than falling prey to stereotypes and prejudices that politicians and divisive interests exploit for their gain. A new Nigeria must emerge—one where no citizen is condemned because of tribe, religion, or birthplace. We can cherish our cultural roots while standing united by justice, mutual respect, and hope for a better future. We are capable of this. A new Nigeria is within our reach. -PO

@ansem_edet Very important. And that state police should not inherit the present police culture. They should be humane and emotionally intelligent.

We keep seeing d same script every time and crazy Nigerians are falling for it. Nobody in distress will set camera and be making videos of themselves crying. Best bet, a random stranger will do d recording in reflex. Whenever you see a crying Nigerian on video, s/he is lying.

💛 Together We Made History🎉 Thank You to everyone that took part in this historic feat. What we witnessed at the 4th Annual Yoruba Global Conference 2026 was more than a conference, it was a gathering of minds, hearts, and a shared vision for the future of Yorubaland. To every attendee, speaker, traditional ruler, partner, volunteer, media representative, and supporter, thank you for showing up, contributing, and believing in the mission. Your presence made the conversations richer, the connections stronger, and the impact greater. The conference may be over, but the work continues, to build a Yorùbáland that will never fall💥💥💥 Ẹ ṣé púpọ̀. A dúpẹ́ gan-an 💛 #YorubaGlobalConference2026 #ThinkYorubaFirst

Yorubas have been called Fulani slaves for years on this app by your followers. Now, because of the election, you have suddenly merged your tribe with the same Fulani people to create a victim mentality. May God forbid the day this man leads this nation. May that day never come in the history of Nigeria.

You, again, Ogana? Okay, Ogana, let's be rational rather than emotional. Peter Obi's party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress, held its primaries on Friday, 29 May 2026. Today, being Monday, 8 June 2026, is exactly ten days since 29 May 2026. Yet the NDC has not presented the results of their primaries to the public or the INEC, except for their presidential primary, which was uncontested, meaning there were no votes since there was only one aspirant. So, Ogana, if the NDC cannot produce the results of the elections they conducted among their members even after ten days, why would you, a rational and supposedly sentient adult, expect the INEC to give you real-time election results in a country with over 100 million registered voters? Ogana, think about it. Don't just see me as an enemy. Look beyond your ethnic and political affiliation and see me as a person who, like you, wants the best for Nigeria and believes that the best can only be achieved when we work based on facts rather than on sentiments. Thank you, Ogana, and may God bless you. Reno Omokri

@egi_nupe Politics is a game of numbers, that is what a northern person just tell me about this topic. From my findings it is a deliberate act. They know what they are doing.

Now it makes sense why poverty, illiteracy, terrorism and banditry thrive in the North easily? Because some rich and educated northerners find them attractive. See how they have been fighting to defend mass wedding by their state governors? We’re in a deep mess!

The next statement I want the NDC to release is the right appellation for the Supreme Leader. He should be called Daddy Dickson. Failure to do so by any group could lead to the withdrawal of the party’s ticket from defaulting groups.

My problem with some of us is that whenever someone tries to criticise our system, our first instinct isn't to look at the facts, it’s to police the tone. If you are an educated, well exposed, and privileged Muslim from the north, yet you choose to get offended by a critique of the government sponsoring mass weddings, you are missing the entire point. Instead of answering tough questions about how a society already battling extreme poverty, insecurity, and thousands of out of school children is supposed to support thousands of new families, we complain that the critic is being rude, disrespectful, or insensitive. No person with any foresight or intelligent thinking can look at our current reality and honestly support a policy like this.

I am the last person anyone can threaten or blackmail with promises of future favours or opportunities over what I say or do today. One of the firm resolutions I have made in life is this: Nothing destined for me shall ever be taken away or withheld from me. Therefore, I remain completely unbothered by subtle or blatant threats. I cannot be silenced. My path is divinely secured. My voice remains free.

You allege but leave the burden of proof to the police? So much for "Empirical Evidence". You are an anathema to all journalism should be - Scratch that. You are an aberration to the very fabric of human decency. A cautionary tale that walked into a newsroom and mistook it for a theatre of personal vendettas.
