@Steviagra Hmm what other connection styles are there for the same applications?

@McMasterDaily a tiny bit of torsional force from a tangle, snag or dazed patient and the things disconnect. sometimes the male part isn’t threaded far enough, so the valve doesn’t actuate, same thing when morons undertighten them. Sometimes the tolerances are so far off they don’t fit at all.

@McMasterDaily Man . . . what was this even designed for? It looks like a hydraulic engineer designed it for 500 PSI, what possible use could it have besides looking cool?

@muhasaba_needer @JasonPremoMFG Yeah these stainless ones were unusually expensive which is why I decided to post it. Aside from corrosive materials it can handle higher pressure than plastic syringes so there's value in that.

@JasonPremoMFG @McMasterDaily Luer lock syringes are pretty commonly installed as precision dispensers in fermenters and other bioprocess rigs (the plunger is driven by a screw) and are modestly valuable surplus, but I think the fact that the cylinder is usually pyrex normally keeps the cost below this
