Unfortunately, I think this is smart. Sequels tend to lock out/bounce back a degree of new people who haven’t done their homework (think kingdom hearts 3), so this way allows any game to be someone’s first rather than having to wait over a decade for another zelda entry point.

What is true from that interview is that they never considered Super Mario Galaxy a “Sequel.” In fact, they forbade their employees from referring to it as one. Here’s what my Universal source told me TWO YEARS ago:

I dont understand what people could possibly want from a super metroid remake, i feel like its only wanted bc Metroid 1 and 2 have remakes. If we get to the point where people say they want a fusion remake all is lost
