The left vs. right political divide is engineered and well maintained. If you identify with the left, there's a list of issues you should be against and in favor of. Unsurprisingly, if you identify with the right, you're supposed to take the opposite stance on these topics. 🧵1

The annual odds of being struck by lightning in the US are about 1 in 1.22 million. The annual risk of dying from hantavirus is roughly 1 in 34 million (about 10 deaths per year across a 340 million population, per CDC data since 1993). You're ~28 times more likely to be struck by lightning than to die of hantavirus.

@zerohedge Someone responsible for F&B operations for one of the largest cruise lines once told me these outbreaks happen almost weekly in large hotels somewhere in the world, but you never hear about it. The difference with cruise lines: reporting requirements.

This is simply unreal. What happened in Germany? Has the left virus completely eaten their minds? How on earth is it possible to not be willing to defend one's country and family?

The quantum threat predictions are on the same level of stupidity (and payroll) as the WEF BTC energy FUD in 2017. ⬇️ The difference: In 2017, everyone in/close to the BTC space ridiculed the FUD. Now some are actively spreading the nonsense.

BITCOIN: Quantum computing could break $BTC wallets by 2030. The bigger problem: migrating Bitcoin to post-quantum cryptography requires every user, exchange, custodian and miner to move simultaneously. @ProjectEleven_ says the gap isn't technical — it's coordination. Read more on CoinDesk

⚡️During COVID, the governing assumption inside large institutions became: compliance first, debate later. That logic metastasized everywhere. Military. Corporations. Universities. Media. Tech platforms. Public health agencies. Dissent stopped being treated as disagreement and started being treated as contamination risk. Now the reversal is happening because power changed hands and the emotional temperature cooled enough for retrospective judgment to re-enter the room. But the scar remains. Millions of people watched careers destroyed, reputations erased, friendships shattered, and bodily autonomy overridden under extraordinary social pressure. Many complied out of fear. Many enforced because the institutional incentive structure rewarded enforcement. Many resisted quietly because resistance carried real economic and social cost. Now the machine is partially walking backward through its own footprints. That creates a dangerous legitimacy fracture because institutions only maintain authority when people believe the rules are stable across administrations. Once obedience in one cycle becomes honored resistance in the next cycle, trust decays at the civilizational level. The deeper pattern emerging underneath all this is the collapse of “neutral expert authority” as the central organizing religion of the post-2008 era. People no longer fully believe: “the experts are above politics.” People increasingly believe: “expert systems are political actors with institutional incentives.”

🇺🇸 Secretary Pete Hegseth just announced the Pentagon will reinstate every service member discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine, with full back pay and benefits. "Joe Biden's mandate to force military service members to take the COVID-19 vaccine was wrongfully and unlawfully applied. Many service members and their families suffered severe hardship." The plan: reinstatement with back pay, upgraded discharge characterizations, and removal of adverse documents from service files. A new Department of War COVID-19 Reinstatement and Reconciliation Task Force will oversee it. These warriors lost careers, pensions, and dignity for refusing an experimental shot under duress. Today the Pentagon officially called it what it was. An injustice. Source: U.S. Department of War

Now that @AnthropicAI is securing more compute via deal w/ @elonmusk, smartest move would be to reverse policy of prohibiting subscription OAuth for agent harnesses and bring on @Teknium. They won't do it, but if they did, it would be the last nail in coffin for OpenAI & OpenClaw

In February 2026, Atlassian raised Loom prices by up to 100x. One team's bill went from $240 a year to $24,000 a year. Overnight. No opt-in. No warning. Loom Business now costs $12.50 per user per month. Loom Business + AI is $20. A 50-person team pays up to $12,000 a year to send screen recordings. A 100-person team pays up to $24,000 a year. A 500-person team pays up to $120,000 a year. For screen recordings. Then a developer in Liverpool shipped Cap. His name is Richie McIlroy. Solo founder. Built and sold four micro-SaaS products before this one. Started Cap in November 2023, six weeks after Atlassian announced the Loom acquisition. Cap is the open source alternative to Loom. Built in Rust and Tauri. Native macOS and Windows app. AGPL-3.0 licensed. Free forever for local recording. No usage limits. No watermark. No login wall. Here is what it does: → Instant Mode: record and upload at once, shareable link the moment you stop → Studio Mode: 4K, separate screen and camera tracks, no compression, no upload → AI-generated titles, summaries, chapters, transcripts — automatic → Custom S3 storage: AWS, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze, MinIO, Wasabi → Custom domains: share from cap.yourdomain.com, not loom.com → Import your existing Loom videos in one click → Self-host everything with one Docker command Here is the wildest part: Loom hosts your videos on their servers. If Loom goes down, your links go down. If Atlassian raises prices again, you pay or your library disappears. Atlassian has killed products before. Stride. HipChat. Both were buried. Loom could be next. Cap puts your videos on YOUR storage. If Cap disappears tomorrow, your recordings still sit in your S3 bucket. Every link still works. Every video still plays. The numbers, today: 18,506 stars. 1,454 forks. 56 contributors. 1,762 commits in 2026 alone. Latest release v0.4.84, three weeks ago. Used by 30,000 teams. A $63 billion public company raised the price of screen recording 100x in February. A solo founder in Liverpool made it free the same year. Your recordings. Your storage. Your links. No surprise invoice. Free forever. AGPL-3.0 open source. (Link in the comments)
