@bardia_amit presenting @AmCollSurgeons and @MPOGASPIRE data on association between periop antibiotic practices and infection outcomes. (1) Guideline non-adherence assoc w/ ↑ risk of SSIs; (2) initial dose timing is a mountain already conquered, need focus on re-dose and choice.

Can participation in quality improvement programs not only improve care processes and outcomes, but also reduce costs? @allison_janda breaks it down (and short answer is 'yes') at @MPOGASPIRE retreat.

@HollyLynchez on defining/advancing IRB quality and effectiveness. (1) IRBs should be more than just a thorn in side of reserach teams; (2) IRB improvement comes from measuring quality (like anything else), but need to define quality by substantive goals (and not checkboxes).
