IT managers are NEVER the heroes of your company. Sometimes it’s the founders, sometimes other C-level executives, sometimes a salesperson who brought in a huge deal, and occasionally a marketer who launched a brilliant campaign. Never the IT team. Very few see what IT does…the login, onboarding, hardware, security, servers, support…just to name a few. Most take it for granted that everything just ‘works’. IT is the ultimate enabler. Every department depends on IT. Every workflow. Every employee. And yet we only notice how valuable they are when something breaks. They’re never heroes, but they’re sometimes the villain—when the Wifi is out, when Okta is buggy, when Gmail is unresponsive - any sort of crash. Even if it’s not their fault.
