Standing in front of the zap stands I designed for 22 European Congress Herpetology we’re hosting at University Wolverhampton 4-8 September 2023. It should be an excellent week, with three parallel sessions and almost 200 delegates from 26 countries on four continents.

Another regional meeting for our @IUCN Snake Specialist Group! We discussed upcoming conferences, priority snake species for research, updates for conservation listing of species, discussed new membership, and connected people with experts on the ground in the field.

On Tuesday 30th November I was presented with an MBE for services to Higher Education, Zoology, Reptile Conservation, and Snakebite Research, by HRH the Princess Royal, Princess Anne, at an investiture at Windsor Castle. It was a great and unexpected honour.

Wolverhampton. I certainly plan to be there in the Arena Theatre audience. Being able to utilise museum specimen DNA will prove a great advance in the study of reptiles and amphibians.

@SgsVishnu Shocked! you should not have been given antivenom.12 days later you feel fine, hopefully no damage done but to make sure your kidneys continue to function properly keep well hydrated by drinking clean water. I've had 12 & 16 ampoules for rattlesnake bites and I was fine after.
