It's true that Donald Trump's one trick is to blame every problem on immigrants. But I don't think it's a better trick to blame complex problems on nefarious corporations that apparently want you jobless, homeless, and dead. There are real problems with corporate power but "bad corporation took your nice thing away" is not actually the sole or even chief cause of most of these problems, and Democratic politicians should offer voters real solutions, of which there actually are many.

One of my major beefs with Hasan and the people in his orbit is they just say shit. They make zero effort to tie it to reality. This statement does not even slightly square with his actual behavior one bit.
We had a chance to crush the fascist Republicans last election. Donald Trump would have finally been held accountable for his crimes. The country would not have embraced fascism. Millions of vulnerable people would not be harmed.
And what did Hasan do? He spent all of his time attacking Democrats and demotivating people from voting for the anti-fascist party. And now that the fascist one and we have a "Nazi" President, he wants to say "oh well Democrats are not doing enough to fight the fascists."
It's peak gaslighting. People begged him to stop lying about Kamala and Democrats before the election and he refused.

That's a lot of words not to deal with the essential truth: Never Trumpers disagree with policy but see the existential risk of Trump to democracy so they voted for Kamala. Piker saw the same facts and didn't.

This tweet reveals that Neera's definition of "the Democratic party" is just the apparatus of consultants, donors, and political elites she belongs to. She's correct, in that sense: The Bush-era neocons trying to take over the Democratic Party via their rebrand as "Never-Trumpers" are definitely nicer to the ultrawealthy and well-connected than Hasan is. That's because, like her, they see politics as an intellectual exercise and vehicle for personal elevation.

Never Trumpers exist in the Democratic coalition without repeatedly bashing the party and demanding it take specific stances in exchange for their votes. If this is how he’d like to be treated, he should consider adjusting his own posture.
