One of the main things being ranted at me from the xenophobic bots is that foreigners are here to take jobs. That's not how jobs work. There isn't a finite supply of them unless the government has implemented policies that restrict them. The ANC and the trade unions hold back job creation. The reason foreigners can find jobs is because they aren't beholden to these regulations. And no, South Africans won't get these jobs if the foreigners leave. The jobs will just disappear. If you want to eradicate unemployment, you let companies employ people. You make it easy for them to employ people and takes risks with them. Foreigners aren't taking your jobs. You've been banned from gainful employment because the ANC has raised the standards too high.

Even the Royal Family is basically a European group project that got edited into British tradition. The House of Windsor was Saxe-Coburg-Gotha until the name became politically inconvenient during WWI, & Prince Philip entered the world in Corfu as a Prince of Greece and Denmark. If we can process all of that without collapsing, I promise Stormzy saying he is Ghanaian and English at a football match is not the constitutional crisis people are pretending it is. I used to live in a compound where two wives got pregnant around the same time. One had all the support in the world. Family members were always around. Someone was always helping with something. After she gave birth, I remember her talking to herself “I’m not entering that kitchen for the next three months.” She was loved, and allowed to rest. The other woman : Her husband was rarely home. She wasn’t working, but whenever her family sent her money, he would take it. Sometimes she would ask my mum to pretend she was demanding repayment of a loan that never existed, just so her husband would return some of the money. I remember that she always looked exhausted. When it was time for her to deliver, she and the baby didn’t survive. They said her blood pressure had become very high. Whenever I see people online comparing pregnant women and praising those who “maintained themselves” better, I reflect on two women. Both carried babies. Only one of them was carried too.
