I promise you that if some parents were able to witness the behaviour some teachers have to manage on the daily, when the doors are closed, they wouldn’t be questioning the pay, the holidays or the amount of homework being set.

One of the hardest and most overwhelming things about a pastoral role is having absolutely NO down time in the day to do anything and doing all my teacher stuff in evenings and at weekends. No breaks, no lunches, no "frees", absolutely no time until I get home at 6pm. Relentless.
