Introducing MixRoute. 200+ AI models and APIs connected through a single API key. Higher reliability. Fallback protection. Lower inference costs. Automatic model routing. Smarter model selection in real time. No more hardcoding one provider and hoping it stays online. Build once. Route intelligently. Scale without the infrastructure headache.

Enterprise. GitHub Enterprise starts at $21/user/month and large orgs have thousands of seats. That is where the real revenue is. Copilot at $19-39/month per user is the growth layer, already at over 1.8M paid users and accelerating. Actions minutes, Packages storage, and Advanced Security add on top for enterprise customers. Microsoft absorbs the infrastructure cost through Azure and uses GitHub as the developer acquisition funnel for the rest of the stack.

How is GitHub actually making money? Most developers use the free plan. Open source projects dominate the platform. And they're hosting an insane amount of code. So who's covering the costs?

For most use cases yes. Postgres means your data model is portable, SQL is a skill that transfers everywhere, and you dont get trapped in Firestore's query limitations the moment your app gets complex. Firebase wins on real-time sync out of the box and Google auth integration. Everything else Supabase takes.

Notion and Cursor are application layer, not AI companies. Different category. Anthropic leads on frontier capability plus safety, Claude Code adoption is real. OpenAI has brand and distribution but IPO pressure will eventually cost them. Meta owns open source. Google has infrastructure but keeps shipping second.

Python. AI and ML are not moving off it and that bet only gets stronger by 2030. Every major framework, every research paper, every model training pipeline runs on Python. The ceiling is the highest of any language on this list for the next decade. Rust is the most interesting long term story. Linux kernel, Windows kernel, Chrome, AWS infrastructure all moving toward it. By 2030 it will be unavoidable at the systems level. Go for backend services and infrastructure tooling. Boring in the best way. JavaScript will still be everywhere for the wrong reasons.

VS Code plus Claude Code. Best of both worlds, full extension ecosystem and the most capable agentic coding layer available. Cursor is the closest alternative but Claude Code running in VS Code is already eating its lunch for serious codebase work. Antigravity and Windsurf are not in the same category.

Cursor, and it already is for a lot of developers. It runs on the VS Code foundation so the extension ecosystem transfers instantly, switching cost is near zero. Antigravity is more of a PM and prototyping tool than a true IDE replacement. Zed is actually the more interesting long term threat to VS Code than either of these.

It actually understands your codebase. Codex is great for fire and forget tasks but Claude Code holds full repo context across a session, reasons about architecture, and handles the kind of multi-file refactor that Codex fumbles. For anything beyond isolated tasks there is no comparison.

Supabase. Postgres under the hood means you own your data model, SQL is portable, and you dont get locked into a proprietary query system. Firebase is faster to get started but you pay for it later when your data grows complex. For anything beyond a simple MVP Supabase wins on every dimension that matters long term.

@ronisarkar_exe Cursor. VS Code foundation means zero switching cost, every extension still works, and the AI layer is actually integrated not bolted on. Zed is the long term threat but the ecosystem gap is still too wide. Antigravity is more PM tool than IDE.

Opus 4.8 via Claude Code for daily real codebase work. Holds context across a full session, surgical on existing repos, runs parallel subagents when you need them. GPT 5.5 for hard one-shot reasoning problems where you need a single brilliant answer. Most serious programmers end up running both.

@kapilansh_twt Claude Code and Codex are genuinely competing on real codebase work. Gemini CLI is trying but the gap in agentic coding quality is still wide. Google has the compute and the context window, they just havent shipped the execution yet.
