@whozgrimez @123itsmeMary Babe she listed that she read Toni Morrison in HS…the most prolific readers sometimes have a hard time reading Morrison, her school absolutely did not fail her.

I graduated in 2015 and didn't read The Great Gatsby in high school. My teachers tended to use books from Black authors so a lot of the typical "classics," I've never read.
Ali B@wtflanksteak

Now people are in my mentions like "we didn't read The Great Gatsby in high school, grandma!" YEAH, that's a problem. That book is not that hard, it's incredibly relevant. A high school education now isn't as rigorous as the past. Most importantly tho, I'm not blaming the kids.

Mind you, people BEEN saying the humanities and liberal arts serve no purpose, emphasizing STEM over everything else and yall surprised the kids can't read and write when we've spent decades telling em it ain't important anyway...?

@Shadonis Your definition of public transportation also applies to aviation and is not unique to on ground transportation, further more the workers who support aviation on the ground are federally funded…private company running aviation does not make it not public.

Aviation uses public infrastructure. That doesn’t make it public transit. Public transit is designed for consistent, accessible, subsidized movement of the general population within a system. Air travel is privatized, capacity-limited, and not guaranteed or accessible to the public in the same way. It operates on profit, not public necessity.

At many junctures I was spared unnecessary strife by listening to the well meaning older women in my life. On the flip side some older women could be way more tender with the advice they give. The convo is nuanced and doesn’t require ageism or tough love narratives.

It takes so much self work to to not get distracted from outside noise when you have a clear vision & destination set for yourself.

As much as I don’t like her she’s right to check Andy and lowkey he let some of that behavior Nene clocked years ago slip out. Ask him if the CMOs he knows are black or if he thinks a black man named in as many lawsuits as he has been would be allowed to still be at a network.

Lore’l is also the wrong person to have this conversation with because it’s on record that she was a bully (MBJ) if she was weird towards him imagine how she was towards ppl with even less privilege. Love Mona down though!

The word for it is discrimination…most of the isms are defined by things that systemically represent a lack of privilege and/or structural harm outside of person to person relations.
Block Topickz@BlockTopickz

Dnt Call Me White Girl and Lore’l relate to being two fair-skinned women who faced bullying and discrimination over their complexion but say there wasn’t a term for it like ‘colorism' 🎥: @MorningHustleAM 🔗: youtu.be/UykDczfPiHI?si…

He needs to call Matt Barnes and ask him how to bounce back from a cheating scandal without looking bitter…it helps that Matt is better looking and charismatic but hopefully he has some tips.

For a basketball player who is closer to retirement than achieving anything else remarkable you would think he would move a little differently if he wishes to stay a public figure. He’s not interesting or polarizing enough to the misogynistic sports guy…
BIG BAD CHUCK ✰@yawningemoji

yeah. he’s a bitch ass nigga for that fr. “he’s so mature because he’s being silent about the breakup”….. meanwhile he’s dogwhistling left and right. so evil.

@bronze_bombSHEL I’m so glad talking about it but can we also add a likkle perspective about those of us who are surviving the layoffs as BW but being treated like Taraji P Henson’s character in Hidden Figures in this hyper competitive job market 😩😖
