Like Israel and Ukraine, Saudi Arabia is lobbying for Forum Dialogue Partner status. At the 2023 Forum summit in Rarotonga, Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb, Chair of the Saudi Fund for Development, announced a US$50 million contribution to the new Pacific Resilience Facility.

Fiji and the United Arab Emirates #UAE have agreed to fast-track negotiations for a regional Economic Partnership Agreement between UAE and Pacific Island countries. Draft proposals will be discussed at the next Pacific Trade Ministers’ Meeting, to be held in Fiji in July.
