@AestheticGamer1 Just a little correction, the film Sweet Home was actually produced by Juzo Itami and distributed by Toho, but keeping with the horror movie history permeating RE, it's directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Cure, Pulse and many other great films)

I tend to think people understate how much the Resident Evil series DNA is literally just horror films. Even in RE1, whole set-up inspired by Night of the Living Dead, Plant 42 by Little Shop of Horrors, Chimeras by The Fly, Sharks by Jaws, Crows from Alfred Hitchcock's Birds etc
