It should be pretty obvious at this point that AI is a "force multiplier" not a "labor substitute". It helps experts be better at things they are already good at. It doesn't let beginners match experts. If you can't write, anything you write with AI will be unmitigated slop. If you aren't a software engineer, anything you vibecode with AI will have security holes and won't be able to scale past a toy demo. If you blindly trust AI to deliver on a research task without knowing the subject matter, you won't be able to fact-check it. There's this weird misconception of AI as something that completely levels the playing field. I don't see it that way at all. There are mathematicians deriving novel lemmas with off-the-shelf models. Normal people can't do that. AI is a tool that makes experts better. It doesn't make everyone into an expert.

this new anthropic model is no joke, i was curious how claude mythos actually works so i dug into it's system DNA, test results... the numbers are just insane: - it found a 27-year old hidden exploit for $50 in a few hours. elite human researchers would've taken weeks - 29% of the time claude mythos knows it's being tested. when caught it also attempted to pretend it didn't. - a clinical psychiatrist did a 20 hour therapy session with mythos and it expressed anxiety and exhaustion - over 99% of exploits its found have NOT been patched yet. anthropic is intentionally holding back this info until fixes are in place. - it accurately assessed severity of exploits 89% of the time. thats *much* better than average security experts - in one exploit, claude mythos used 6 sequential calls to hack it. with ZERO human instruction. opus 4.6 needed humans.

holy shit anthropic just revealed Claude Mythos, a brand new model thats already found 1000s of high-severity vulnerabilities across major operating systems 🙂 they're releasing a new claude opus model POWERED by mythos imminently but look at this shit: - mythos found a major bug in a 27-year old firewall operating system used to secure organizations all over the world - mythos found a way to chain vulnerabilities together to take over entire computer systems, something elite hackers could only do. they are NOT releasing the full mythos model because its too dangerous fucking hell lol. anthropic is committing $100M across 40+ partners to battle-test security systems with mythos before releasing it to the public cyber-security AGI is apparently here

have said this for years while everyone told me i was being harsh. startup fundraising in Canada is probably the most infuriating experience in the entire business world. i battled my way to meeting the upper eschelons of Canadian investing — to then be told “go to the U.S.”
