Recognising animal sentience means rethinking how we relate to them - not as objects, but as individuals with rich lives of their own. They deserve to live those lives fully. Let’s build a future where animals are valued for who they are.

A new poll with Blood Lions shows 70% of tourists would avoid South Africa if captive lion exploitation continues. 66% of South Africans also view the industry as unethical. There is strong support for the proposed 'phase out' of captive lion breeding, and we hope that the country commits to supporting the welfare of the lions currently in captivity.

Pandas. Known across the globe for their iconic colouring and calm nature. But with fewer than 2,000 left in the wild, safeguarding their natural habitat has never been more crucial.

A tourist venue in China has halted shows which portrayed a staged 'macaque execution' after receiving international criticism. The show had macaques hooded and restrained who would fall to act as if they had been shot. No animal should be exploited for tourism.

@MoveTheWorld Hi. I found videos on TikTok showing possible abuse of a cat, possibly in Cambodia (not sure). I saw you have an office in Thailand-maybe you have contacts who could help identify the location and help this animal.

The complex behaviours we see in animals, from the way elephants mourn to the strong memory of pigs, demonstrate how differently many animals experience the world. That alone should be enough for us to treat every form of life with respect and consideration. We can choose to build a more compassionate relationship with nature.

@finkd “This page posts staged animal rescue videos. The cats appear sedated (dilated pupils and immobile while hanging on fences). Animals appear placed in danger to film fake rescues.”@MoveTheWorld There is also a video of them pulling a dead puppy from a bag

Seventy two tigers have lost their lives due to a virus outbreak at Tiger Kingdom in Thailand. Wild animals suffer in captivity. We need to end hands on attractions, and support ethical tourism.

Following the mauling of a child by captive lions in China, we are calling on tourists to support wildlife experiences that do not exploit animals. Wild animals should never be exploited for entertainment.

As today is World Wildlife Day, we're spotlighting medicinal and aromatic plants and their vital role in global health and livelihoods. Up to 70,000 species are harvested for healing, yet many face habitat loss, overharvesting and illegal trade. More than 1,300 are endangered. By protecting these plants, we can protect the biodiversity that supports animals and people.

A rise in Nicaragua’s exotic animal trade, including over 11,000 animals exported in one month, is accelerating biodiversity loss. Stronger wildlife protections are urgently needed.
