Nico Iamaleava is the face of the issue for the whole sport. 19-year-old kids who became multimillionaires and still feel slighted. Meanwhile, the same fans who have passed down season tickets for a generation can no longer afford the games because of it. We have all lost.

@RKingGator You’re not entirely wrong, but I’d argue it didn’t feel inevitable in the round of 32. I think elite 8 was the window everybody would have accepted that made sense. Not like this.

It always ends badly in March unless you cut down nets at the Final 4. This was an all-timer, but it’s not as painful as 2011 or 2014. Those were championship teams who missed their window. This year’s team never felt quite right. Hard to explain but tonight felt…inevitable?

I’m curious to see how Todd attacks roster construction this offseason. Only two players will be out of eligibility, one that will almost certainly apply for a waiver (Handlogten), Tommy could go pro, and you have two freshman that will be expecting bigger roles next year.

@CoachRaz17 Great coaches don’t get beat in the round of 32 by a team that has not been to the Sweet 16 since Clinton was president. Great coaches also don’t lose as a number one seed to a number nine seed becoming the first team in eight years to do so.

Was fun watching this basketball team this year. Always suspected at some point the lack of shooting would bite them. Iowa played the rebound battle (27-27) and turnover battle (10-11) to a draw. On to football.

I just can’t put a smiley face on a season that ends against the team that’s a 9 seed, and hasn’t been to the sweet 16 since Clinton was president. Not to mention the first 9 seed to beat a 1 seed in 8 years.

@CoachRaz17 I’m always confused about the “Good year” comments. We just lost in the round of 32 against a team that had not been to the sweet 16 in 27 years. It’s also the first time a 9 seed has beat a one seed in eight years. This year wasn’t good at all.
