Second graders did a great job with their concert, “Read!” last night. I think this was everyone’s favorite song! 📚🎶

Have you ever had this conversation at home? 3rd grade has been working on drumming this month! We learned this call and response poem to practice different drum techniques and audiation (hearing the words in your head but not saying them).

Ks are practicing the difference between beat and rhythm! Here you can see Ms. Dressel’s class performing the rhythm of “Burnie Bee” but without the words! This can be a tricky skill to master but they did a great job! @dresselsdrivers

A progression of before our cup passing game and after 😅

4th graders learned the song “Only in October”! We sang it first, and then we sang it in canon, and then we played it on instruments. 🎃

Ks learned to play lots of non-pitched percussion instruments! Check out those steady beats and gentle hands. 🥰🎶@dresselsdrivers

First graders reviewed the song “Black Snake” to practice dynamics! This song also has a fun game - ask your child to teach you how to play! Afterwards, we composed our own 8-beat patterns using different types of snakes - king cobra, diamond back, viper, anaconda, and asp. 🐍

3rd graders learned one of my favorite pentatonic songs, Great Big House! We learned the folk dance first and then added some instrument parts. 🎶🏡 Check out the music room Instagram for each class’s performance!

All our Pond kinders know my favorite poem, “Firecracker!” This poem helps us do some vocal exploration and get used to using our head voice, which is the voice we will use for singing! @MrsBarnesKDG
