@sudhikothapalli It felt like a sign. At first, I thought it was a crow and then spotted the dark hue of the bird.

The first time I spotted a Malabar whistling thrush was at the foothills of Mussoorie en route to Ponta Sahib on New Year's Eve. Years after, last week, I saw it again at a cave next to Bade Mahadev in Pachmarhi, right after the darshan at the temple. It was sitting quietly amongst the stone houses and hopes stacked up inside the cave by the visiting devotees. The otherwise notorious bird, an expert whistler and mimic of human voices, was sitting quietly, as if in a trance. I waited a few seconds to watch it blink, to know it wasn't a statue. Fascinating. I’m wondering if the sighting was serendipitous.... Was it? Only time will tell. #GeeMusings
