This afternoon at the @NgComCommission HQ in Abuja, I received Mr. Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, and his team on a courtesy call. Our last formal conversation in our previous roles — him as CEO of Nilayo Sports, and me as GCE of The Temple Company — was no different from this one: “How do we elevate sports in Nigeria?” Today’s overarching subject was the same. The only difference was our current roles. We discussed the intersection of sports and technology, particularly the development of a robust Sports Information Management System, the role of modern data centres in esports, and the immense economic value embedded within the sports ecosystem. We also explored the importance of intentional investment in sports as a tool for national development, job creation, and youth engagement. As Chairman of the NCC, I reaffirmed my commitment to strategic collaboration — leveraging connectivity, innovation, and infrastructure to unlock opportunities that will benefit Nigerians across sectors.

A week later, it was the turn of another of our @FMINONigeria agencies to bring us together. The Voice of Nigeria @voiceofnigeria Forum 2026, where it was my pleasure to serve as Chief Host. The theme: "51 Years of Nigeria's Role in Deepening Democratic Stability in ECOWAS." A timely reaffirmation of Nigeria’s leadership role in West Africa, and a reminder of why we must continue to work collaboratively on strengthening regional democracy, peace, and stability. Adedeji PhD, today received a delegation from TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited, led by Matthieu Bouyer, Managing Director/Chief Executive, TotalEnergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria, on a working visit to the Service’s headquarters. The 118km Abuja–Kaduna highway is almost ready, now 95% complete and set for delivery in the first week of May 2026. A critical corridor getting the upgrade it deserves, improving safety, travel time, and economic movement between the FCT and the North. Kudos to the Ministry of Works (@FMWNIG) for pushing this project to the finish line.

The road network in Shango and around the Trade Fair Complex is being reconstructed under the leadership of Governor Umaru Bago. Across townships, road projects are happening almost daily. #NewNiger
