His name wasn’t even Brad Hall. Brad Hall was a fictitious character created by Ben Kobold to make fun of sneaker culture but because of reasons we probably will never be ready to discuss for real, his joke was met with praise & rewarded with huge notoriety. Brands started seeding him. He started getting brand campaigns. So he kept it going.

@SneakerPhetish @_henrock Brother, he created videos for what 7 years? We've seen everyone from Kustoo to TonyD also cook during these times. Brands will go to where the audience is, he created his audience that he could sell too. He was selling shirts with his face on it. The bit was fire.

I think the deeper conversation is why him above a lot of many other more value added creatives was getting the opportunities & also why he blew up like that. Yes the answer on the surface is “because he was famous” but there’s another layer to that, that speaks to the thing nobody wants to discuss.

@SneakerPhetish I guess I don't see what's wrong with this, Brad Hall videos were great. He never took himself serious and all he did was make dry sneaker review videos. He's just a classic case of when a bit ran it's course. He never forced his way into sneakers the audience found him.

BFF news I can share: ATL chapter is growing and hungry. They are planning quarterly events this year. BOS chapter is meeting monthly and has titled their series ‘Last Wednesdays’ DMV chapter has launched with 80 members and sponsorship from UA. NYC hasn’t activated yet because I lead that and I’ve been in recovery but we plan to meet this Summer.
