On Thursday, 20th February 2025, I had, at the invitation of the Board of Trustees of the IBB Presidential Library Foundation, the honour of participating and delivering the keynote address at the historic launch of “A Journey In Service”, the long-awaited autobiography of one of the most extraordinary military statesmen, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The glittering assembly of Nigeria’s Who’s Who at the event was the perfect occasion to convey my deepest sense of disappointment that military coup d’etats have come back in fashion in our region and are seen as the answer to the instability being spread from the Sahel by jihadist activity, and by some as the answer to difficult economic conditions, or unpopular government policies.
It appears that we have our work cut out for us all over again to try to build and consolidate the democratic structures in our countries to gain the confidence of our populations, especially to show that the road to prosperity would be faster and longer lasting when we are democratic.
I called on West African and African countries to remain resolute after years of hesitation, argument or experimentation on the consensus that multi-party democracy is the most suitable form of governance structure for our continent.
Nkunku and Palmer having free roles up front. It looks like a 4-4-2 (box midfield) with floating split forward. That means the FBs will attack outside like conventional FBs. Basically a two false 9.
I like it.
🚨 Maresca : “I said many times the club never told me finish top four this season, they told me finish top four in 2 years, the reason why I’ve been saying we’re above expectations is because we’ve been in top four most of this season, there’s no bad intention” (@SkySportsPL)
🚨 Maresca: “There’s clubs that have been together 3-5 years and struggle. Why should Chelsea after 6 months be winning the league, finish in top four or win four competitions, why? (@kierangill_DM)
Joao Felix left Chelsea because he personally asked for a new opportunity.
Félix didn’t play as much as he wanted this season and Joao and his agent Jorge Mendes felt a move was needed to revive his career and find more game time from now to June.

Don't stress yourself. Players 8 out of 10 decide their future. They push to leave when they feel like.
In Felix case, he would've stayed if he wanted, Chelsea didn't put him up for loan or sale in January. I don't understand the outrage.
He's entitled to do whatever he wants. It's not worth giving yourself a headache. Let it go.
