I‘ve been asking people at #ERS2022 what would persuade them not to fly to #ERS2023 as watching respiratory healthcare professionals fly short haul is very jarring in a #ClimateCrisis = #HealthCrisis. @NHSLeader asked me my thoughts abt options so here are some! ✈️ 🌎 🔥

Also, EMAILS have a significant CO2 footprint too. @Mike_BL suggest 135kgs CO2e for a typical professional. WHAT a win for the NHS it would be if we could halve our emails, a win for the planet and WHAT a gift for humanity. Got to have a dream right??

The CO2 of the internet, digital systems & hardware is 3.7% of global footprint & growing fast. Already same as airline industry. That’s why on Monday @Ecosia will be default search engine @uclh. Plants a tree for every 45 searches & is carbon negative. Who else will follow?

I absolutely LOVE how @UniOfSurrey encourages staff to participate in their staff survey this year! The University will be planting a tree for each response. What a great idea and certainly way better than some small goodies!
